We are currently seeking a skilled Permit Project Manager to facilitate the organizing, tracking, applying for, and follow up of all permits. In conjunction with tracking and pushing permits forward, the right candidate will be interfacing with both our internal engineering teams, as well as our clients. Must have great communication and organizational skills and the ability to solve problems. Experience in permit management is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain documents from team to facilitate the permit application process
  • Obtain all required approvals for permits and act as liaison between the Permitting Team and each permitting agency throughout the entire permitting process
  • Prepare and submit applications to various agencies having jurisdiction over required permits/approvals
  • Prepare check requests and coordinate fee payments associated with permitting
  • Coordinate paperwork and applications with outside clients/consultants as necessary
  • Submit paperwork for permits
  • Work closely with the municipalities on the status of permits and ensure they are processed in a timely manner
  • Produce and maintain schedules for all projects and coordinate with municipalities from permit submittal to approval
  • Enter, maintain and update permitting data daily into an internal database
  • Maintain all project files related to permit applications and permits
  • Communicate regularly with the Permitting Team to help resolve issues that may arise
  • Assist Senior Project Manager in identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of permitting projects

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with permitting is required
  • Minimum 2 years in the Engineering/Construction industry experience is required
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, consistent attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and delegate as well as take initiative are essential to this role
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player, comfortable working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a heavy workload
  • Proficient in MS Office and filing systems
  • Must be able and /or willing to learn how to read plans
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure

Salary range based on experience
